Blue Brick Care Home, Ripon

Bespoke artwork by Indigo Art

This new-build care home has been designed as a home for life, comprising seventy bedrooms, café, hair salon, cinema, three dining areas, several individually themed communal lounges and wide corridors throughout.

From conducting the initial survey of the whole site, Kaye researched and sourced artwork images to reflect themes of local interest. These include archive images of ‘old Ripon’ and a combination of contemporary photography and prints reflecting the wool trade, canals, river wildlife and famous local people including author Lewis Caroll and poet Wilfred Owen.

Working to a soft furnishing schedule, Kaye allocated appropriate sets of images to each individual communal area, thus creating a unique theme to add character and interest throughout this three-storey building, and also to compliment the specific design scheme of each area.
